How I Work as a Therapist

Many people wonder what engaging in therapy with me is like. The answer? It’s truly a partnership! You share your story, and I bring my compassion, curiosity, and a wealth of skills developed through years of dedicated training and experience. Together, we create a supportive space designed just for you.

My Approach

I am an integrative humanistic therapist, which means I don’t believe in a “one-size-fits-all” method. Instead, I draw from different approaches depending on your needs.

  • Person-Centred Therapy – prioritising your voice and experience at the centre of the work.
  • Internal Family Systems (IFS) – helping you understand and work with the different “parts” of yourself, such as the protective part or younger part.
  • Trauma-Informed Practice – recognising how past experiences can shape the present and working gently to rebuild a sense of safety.
  • Creative and Relational Work – sometimes it’s not just about words; sometimes images, metaphors, or simply the relationship itself can help with healing.

What You Can Expect in Sessions

  • A calm, confidential space where you can talk about anything without fear of judgment.
  • Collaboration – we’ll set the pace together; you won’t be pushed where you’re not ready to go.
  • Curiosity and compassion – I’ll listen carefully and may sometimes gently challenge you, but always with kindness.
  • Focus on the whole you – your thoughts, feelings, body, and even the unspoken things you carry.

Who I Work With

I specialise in supporting adults who are navigating:

  • Trauma and its long shadows
  • Eating disorders and difficulties with food
  • Loss, grief, and life transitions
  • Stress, anxiety, and feeling “not enough”

But you don’t have to have a label or diagnosis to come. Sometimes therapy is simply about making sense of life or wanting to feel more connected to yourself.

My Belief

I believe that every person has the capacity for growth and healing, regardless of what they’ve been through. My role isn’t to “fix” you — because you’re not broken. My role is to walk alongside you, helping you discover your own strength, resilience, and new possibilities.

In short: I work relationally, gently, and with deep respect for your story. Therapy with me is about finding your voice, exploring what matters to you, and moving towards a life that feels more your own.
